Hypomania feels so good sometimes it's hard to spot and even harder to control, often leading to a denial of illness and an increase of the self destructive behaviours. Learning how to recognise the signs of hypomania and what to do if they appear is essential to controlling cyclothymia and other bipolar spectrum disorders.

we need to be aware that some psychologists abuse their clients. dr john gournaris of minnesota is one example. stay away from him. he is also on national deaf academy's advisory board. we have heard a lot of bad news about him. the community remains blind to his behaviors. we need to be more aware of mental health and providers.

Thanks for the posting, I'm not sure it will work for me... I don't seem to realize what a bad decision I'm making at the time I'm doing it, buying hundreds of dollars worth of parishable groceries for only me and my son for example...it takes over my logic and reasoning... How are you able to recognize it at the time your doing it?

Quite insightful. Interesting that it can be controlled through strength of will.
